Grinning in Dr Garramone's office

My pre-op appointment went well. It was great finally meet Dr Garramone's staff in person. Jess went into the doctor's office first to take pictures for his project. Finally Olex and I went in and I sat in that really cool chair where I'd eventually get to see my chest post-op. Dr Garramone and I talked about my chest and he said that due to my bone structure that the left side of my chest may be slightly more prominent than my right, but my chest would look good.

When changing out of the cape (Dr Garramone refers to the gown as a cape and that's badass) I giggled for a couple minutes from sheer excitement. Olex joined in. It wasn't until Dr Garramone looked at and touched my chest that it really felt like surgery was going to happen. I was totally psyched!

Back at the front desk, I was told that my surgery had been moved from 11am to 10:30 so I should show up by 9:00. I was also given scripts for clindamycin (an antibiotic) and vicodin (a pain killer), instructed to shave my armpits (the surgery staff would shave my chest to reduce the risk of infection), and given a list of things I should pick up before surgery: bread, laxatives, bendy straws, etc.

After the appointment, we all went to the Steak N Shake right by Dr Garramone's office. Jess had never been before, so Olex and I had to do our duty as friends to make his life that much better.
