I think its cool how some of the pages link back into regular wiki pages. Thats nifty. —Ruth Reply

My thought on this is: I think TextAdventure is cool. I like having random bits of relitivly brainless blab to play with when my brain is non existant. If it really bothers people so much why don't we just add to the 'rules' of TextAdventure. How about at the beginning of the link name just add TA so it would be TALongWalkDownAShortPlank? I think it would work. or just don't worry about it. Wiki is supossed to have some random drizile. its good for bad brains. —Ruth Reply

I do beleave that the person who had started TextAdventure, on the old wiki apologized profusly, and admited that it was a horble mistake that would not be repeated... Reply

Apologize profusely? I did no such thing. I'll admit that TextAdventure got irritating and stupid rather quickly, and didn't turn out anything like I was hoping, but hey, some people obviously seem to enjoy adding to it (seeing as they recreated it here). Wiki is not spefically for anything. There are no guidelines stating what is and is not appropriate or on topic here. It was created for general expression and experimentation, not just for the likes of CheckIn and SqueezeMe. If you don't like seeing things that you don't personally want to read on RecentChanges, use something other than RecentChanges. Start a PagesForKeepingAnEyeOnPeople page and add all your favorite CheckIn-style links there. And if you really just want to know how someone is doing, e-mail them. —Platypus Reply

it still stands that TextAdventure has this tendency to have pages on it, with really good names, that could be used for some out standing topics, and when you have a slow computer, limited time, it made it hard to scan down the RecentChanges page, looking for pages that you might be interested in, with only the name of the page to go by you tend to go for the ones that sound interesting, and alot of people I have talked to skip ones that sound to much like text adventure, and they end up missing alot of pages with really good content. —Ryland Reply

not that I actually like text adventure, and not that I'm vaguely discusted that it's taking off again whilst TheStoryProject has yet to have anything added past the one story I wrote, but the text adventure isn't really all that hard to ignore, and I don't care to have things banned from wiki. (not to mention that it would be impossible.) ~z~ Reply

To all of the above, true enough. If anyone thinks it's wise, healthy and/or prudent, we can make a separate or sub-wiki for the TextAdventure. It's not that hard to add in, and I personally think it might solve a lot of the issues people have with it. On an only slightly related note, I plan to add to the Story thing, but I've not had time lately — I put in a lot of hours making the new wiki go, and I'm catching up now. —Arianna Reply

It's possible, yes, but I'm afraid of too much fragmentation. If everything is separate, then it's hard to run across something others are doing. Reply

I think that's the point, so it'd be harder to run across all those TextAdventure pages. Reply

On old Wiki, we had a little something called a 'TextAdventure'. This story was quite cool in the beginning, until it just got too silly and everything you did resulted in you dying and the whole thing just made no sense. Reply

It works like this: Someone write the first part of the story, and then several options of what paths the story could go down next. The next person fills in one or more of the options ... and so on and so forth. It's pretty easy to pick up on. Reply

Let's go. Reply
