Point being: there are some adults on the NBTSC parents list who are interested in camp. They want to know about our workshops. Some of them are very concerned. One woman wrote this: Reply
How about a workshop on sexual harassment? Or maybe one on Aikido for women to learn how to defend themselves against physically overpowering males, and other females, too? Belly dancing, as I understood it, was not a workshop, did not allow much choice except to very obviously walk out, since it was presented at the talent show. Question: if this is the kid's camp, if this is about their freedom, then why are the adults involved in their talent show in the first place? Reply
Hey, yeah so my mother was the one that wrote that on the parents list. And, I just wanted to clear up some things. So, I don't know who but someone listed me for doing the dream catcher making workshop, which I did (thanks for whoever remembered me doing that.). But, obviously my mother knew that I was doing that workshop, and I told her about all the wonderful workshops, beautifully creative people, and positive energy everyone expressed while we all grew and learned from each other. But, she was disappointed with the amount of sexually inclined activates. And, who can blame a mother for worrying about that. I am very accepting of sexuality, especially since that’s what being a teenager is about, exploring and understanding what you want, and what makes you feel good. On the other hand though, what upset my mother was the fact that her 15-year-old daughter was pulled into a workshop on ass grabbing. I honestly didn't mind because I knew and loved everyone at camp. But, something like that is considered sexually harassment. And, I honestly don't really see any point for a workshop like that to be going on, it would be different if a group of teens wanted to go off and grab each others ass's on their own. I just believe that camp should be more of an exploration of our spirituality, our strengths, and our beauty. Which all around nbtsc captures that moment where we all begin to feel we can breathe as ourselves. So, as I've said parents worry. Mostly my mother was worried about someone suing camp, or something else happening that could ruin all the lovely times I've been part of and read about. It wouldn't be my family that would ever sue, because my mom is very understanding. She never meant to generalize camp as being sex driven. She simply was expressing her concerns as a parent and voicing ideas that she thought would be better choices, opportunities for us to grow as individuals other then ass grabbing. So, sorry for my long blurb. I just hope you all understand better what was meant. Because I believe you all to be wondrous, full of talent, love, artistic grace, and colorful charm painted on your souls. Reply

It has come to the attention of this panel that there is an inkling circulating, that being, that all our workshops are about sex and...well, sex. And drugs, I suppose. The panel would very much like to assemble a list of workshops, but fears her memory is failing. Please help her, just jot down any workshops your remember, by year and session. Update or change info as you see fit. Also any descriptors which you feel are appropriate...could we put 'taught by', 'content', '# of attendees'? Love, jafe. Reply
