I'm obsessed My favorite band of all time is Queen. It all started with the movie Wayne's World, which lead to my first cassette of Queen's Greatest Hits, which gradually lead to my parents spending thousands of dollars on CDs, DVDs, etc. and putting up with my strange fixation with Freddie Mercury. When other kids my age were losing their shit over NSYNC and Britney Spears (back when she had talent and promise), I strictly listened to Queen. Gradually, I've calmed down and greatly expanded my taste in music. But Queen will always be number one.
My blog, That Guy That Really Likes Queen CEREBRAL PALSY QUEER AS FOLK (US) Okay, seriously. I fucking love this show. And not just because there are hot guys carrying on with the gay sexing, but because when it first aired in 2000 it was something big and important. Before this show, any gay characters on TV and in movies were only allowed to make out or lie in bed in their boxers and pretend that they just had sex. Also, gay characters were jokes, drama queens, the pathetic man dying of AIDS, or the token in an otherwise female group of friends. But then the UK was like, "fuck that, queers have shit going on just like anyone else!" and then the US was like, "holy crap, we need to do that too!" This show tackled relationships, politics, adoption, marriage, religion, coming out, bashings, drug use, etc. when it was still shocking to see two men or two women hold hands. That's fucking awesome! Not to mention I have so much in common with almost all of the characters that it's kind of frightening... I'm still prone to thoughts like, "This is who I am and that's okay!" and, "Good god, I'm pretty messed up!"
