Every Four Minutes One Woman Is Raped

raped: to be torn apart from the inside out. to have a society's dominating male values shoved inhumanely into another human being. this is not; exaggeration, overreaction, or a play on words. this is fucking HARSH.

and when i say

"gee guys. ya know, this is an awful lot of women"
do not say
"so protect yourself" or "you ask for it" or "half the world is fucked, what makes this different."

because i. am out to save. the entire human race.

this makes me tremble with rage, and i become in articulate, not able to find words to describe just how angry this makes me. the saddest things:

~that movies and tv shows and books and people constantly erotize The Rape. None of us need to see that. It feeds, and feeds, and feeds. None of us should PAY to see that. what. are. we. thinking?

~that i feel, and most of my female friends feel, vulnerable in our own driveways after dark.

so protect yourself (yes, repeating what i just said not to tell me). do it. but more than that, protect the beauties around you. you have been living defensively your entire life. now be conscious about it.
