Left and Right Brain Art Speakers!
Acrylics 2006

These Speakers are painted to represent the different ways that the right and left sides of the brain interpret things. I painted the right one and Jesse Borges painted the left.


Here with the two eyes you can see that the left brain sees things in symbols like numbers and letters and the pretty universal symbol for an eye. On the right speaker they eye is more realisitic.



On the top the left speaker has a sign and the letter "L" which are symbolis while the right speaker has an ornate pattern that our right brain puts together as being an "R".



Here we have the sun and moon which represent opposites and masculine/ feminine. Around the sun are the symbols for the planets in out solar system and like with the eyes the right side has a more life like moon painted on it. The swirls and stars around the moon represent dreaming.



On the last side we see the opposites of Fire and Water. On the left speaker we see mathematical symbols and the representation of time with the clock. Although it is a surrealistic style clock there is still logic in the painting since the clock is melting because it's on fire! There are also the symbols we use for birds and a cloud present. For the right side I painted a scene of a lake and mountians to reprsent timelessness and an Animistic type view. In the clouds is unicorn which symbolized how our right brian will see messages in things like the clouds.
