Funny story about that. I only read the book because a friend of mine was Adele in the musical. The director made her read the book, and she liked it so much she made me read it. If you can make it through the first few chapters where all she talks about is her childhood it's awesome. It's my favorite book to read when I feel like reading a silly romance novel but still want to pretend I have snobbish standards. Interesting trivia note: Charlotte Bronte wrote it because one of her sisters (I think it was Emily) said it was impossible to write a romance novel with an ugly heroine. —Marina Reply

I love this book. I love that Jane is not a natural beauty, and I love to show off to my snobby relitives. They say- Oh, what are you reading?
because they think that Unschooling is worthless. and then I tell them- Oh, Jane Eyre.
